An ambitious dream made real
The unusual extension was purpose built to house a large wave riding swim spa – seamlessly integrated to floor level.
A 1.5m deep reinforced waterproofed pit was prepared for the 5.3 x 3.8m pool, which was craned into position before the walls and roof of the extension could be built around it. Drainage was installed to manage the surface water – and a subterranean bilge pump was added which will automatically activate in the event of a flood or malfunction.
An 8m2 roof lantern was installed in the flat roof and 10m2 of triple glazed sliding doors were installed facing the beautifully-maintained garden – maximising the connection with the outdoors.
The large format porcelain tiled floor has underfloor heating – enabling the amazing space to be enjoyed all year round.
